Heresy Watch #2
From the ELCA's Lutheran magazine . The late Walter Bouman who is considered a somewhat conservative Theologian by ELCA standards in that he opposes Sexual Revionism. Stated for theological insight on his death-bed
"Difficult as it is—because I always think of it as unfair—I’ve come to accept God’s universal salvation as the final consequence of Jesus’ resurrection. I think of all the best and worst, the innocent and the guilty, Holocaust victims and the evil perpetrators, those killed in all of our senseless wars and the misguided leaders who send them into battle. Christ will raise us all—and somehow bend us into shape so we become the human beings we were intended to be."
-I have debunked his position here http://emerti.blogspot.com/2005/07/univeralism-revised.html and I forgot to quote John 3:18-which is pretty explicit. Bouman never addresses any of these verses. Would the ELCA publish something articulating Biblical Doctrine on Univeralism.
-Bouman's idea represnts what is the next series I am going to do here called "What is the root of Bad Theology? The three areas I will address include "Poor use of Scripture", "Emotion vs Biblical Doctrine", and "Denial of Sin as bondage". If I can think of anymore, I might do more parts. But this series, will have its first post Saturday.
