I will do this segment, then either tonight or tommorrow, finish up on Mormonism. Unity sought up out of the New Thought movement which a rejection of the Authorianatarism, or even Doctrinal Rigidness of Christian Science. New Thought believes

.Man is Good

.Evil and Pain occur when Man does not reflect this image.

.All religions contain truth that should be unified.

The largest of all these New Thought religions became the Unity School of Christianity as founded by Charles&Myrtle Fillmore.

Unity believes

.The Bible is Allegory from Cover to Cover.

.People are not only good, but divine. The Unity School is Panthestic.

.They seek to borrow from the best of all religions.

.Denies the Trinity.

.Believes in Reincarnation. As they deny Heaven and Hell. Heaven because Heaven is in the Here and Now. Hell in that it is inconsistent with the nature of a loving God. They reject Incarnation in terms of Karma. Charles Fillmore thought Reincarnation occured so we would have numerous chances for fulfillment.

.Explain Miracles by Naturalistic laws (I.E. Jesus feed the five-thousand to break down the bonds of atoms)

.Open to Doctrinal Revionism whenever they see fit.

.Mind has power over Body and can cure Death and Sickness.

.Jesus was not different from us in capacity, but only in his perfect demonstration.

.One must renounce Sex according to Charles Fillmore to defeat death.

.Big into prosperity Theology, in fact Fillmore rewrote the Twenty-Third Psalm to speak of The Lord as his Banker. Prosperity comes through the mind.

.A system of human merit which teaches Salvation by enlightenenment.

Unity is probably the farest of the Christian Faith of any of the cults, we have studied so far. Not that any of the other cults are all that close.
