Day 3 ELCA Assembly
*Renewing Worship passed today. I will make all efforts to oppose this resource, and the promotion of the Word Alone: Worship Hymnal that seeks to reveal God's Truth as revealed in the Bible. I have commented on one of the main issues of this hymnal being God's Gender in depth at http://emerti.blogspot.com/2005/07/god-as-father.html.
*A questionable vote is going to take place on whether to share the Lord's Supper with the United Methodists. I oppose such a measure on grounds that Methodists have radically different views on why we take the Lord's Supper in response to how we differently view our sinful state. But since Lutherans( I use this term to associate people that go to Lutheran Churches, not people that hold Lutheran Theology as defined in the Reformation) don't believe in a bound-will as evidenced by the Sexuality discussion. *-
*The ELCA is going to continue to question the right of Israel this week to defend themself by condemning their security wall. Inaccurate reporting by the Lutheran is laid out on this issue at http://www.camera.org/index.asp?x_context=2&x_outlet=176&x_article=958. My concern isn't with the end times, since I am an amillenalist, who belives that the prophecy in Revealation 20 has already been fulfilled, only that Christ will come back. My concern is putting out a really radical view of world affairs that isn't consistent with Political reality.
