Response to Process Theology

Process Theology is problematic for several reasons.

1. No Prophecy could ever come to be. If God could not realize the future, how could God have known what Jesus Christ was going to do on the cross. There would be no possible way for knowing what is going to happen in the future, since the future is just a series of possibilites. There would have been no way for Jesus to predict the denial of Peter, or the betrayal of Judas since they just acted on possibilites.

2. There is no sort of Pastoral gain. Process might like to say that it was just bad choices, and not God that led to a car crash. But if God wasn't in control of the Car Crash, how can God be in control of what happened after the car crash. We don't testify about what God can't do but rather what God can do.

3. The distinction between Law and Gospel is greatly skewed. Process speaks of sin as a deviation from the ideal. Well since God is constantly developing, it should be noted that the ideal is developing. So therefore any sort of set conviction of sin, or absolute morality is non-existent in Process Thought. This is why you will rarely find a Process Theologian opposed to Homosexuality. The traditional idea of law is that people are sinful this is constant this is taught in Romans 5:12-21. People are continually in need of God's grace. People aren't progressing to any sort of lesser need of God's grace. God isn't moving the goalposts of what constitues sin. For if God is changing how can God's promises be certain.

4. Process is Biblically inaccurate.

I have already gone through a while back texts which allegedly speak of God changing his mind. But now I will throw the following texts at the Process Theologians.

God guarntess that his will be done. Romans 8:28, Ephesians 1:11, Job 42:2.

Ask if there is one text in Scripture that speaks of God's development or lack of foreknowledge.

God declares he does all things in Isaiah 48:3-5, and Isaiah 46:9-10.

God propheized what would happen to the Israelites in Genesis 15:13-14. Although most Process Theologians wouldn't take this passage literally.

God knows the plans for all our individual futures in Jeremiah 29:10-11. Even from the womb as taught in Jeremiah 1:5.

God propheizes in Nebuccanezer's dreams in Daniel 2.

Acts 2:23 says Christ suffered according to the foreknowledge of God.

Scripture constantly asserts God's sovergnity over all things (Genesis 1:1, John 1:3, Job 23:13-14, Dan 4:34-35)

Ask the Process Theologians how anything stated in John 9 about the Blind Man makes any sense, or Genesis 50:15-21. When it states God willed the following things for good.

Ask does not Lamentations 3:37-38 states God does do all things for God's purpose.

So this section states the big time problems with Process Thought from scripture.

I will respond to other things related to process as the time shall arise.
